AMM Moonshine Run thru the Great Smoky National Park

Event Summary: Join us for a scenic drive thru the Smoky National Park on US-441.  We’ll depart the Oconaluftee Visitor Center at 10:00am. Then drive thru the Smoky Mountain National Park via US-441. Once we get to Gatlinburg, we’ll park at Public Parking Lot on the left just before the Walgreens ($8.00 per car). Then we’ll proceed to Dick’s Last Resort for lunch and then off to Ole Smokey Moonshine for a private group tasting (13 flavors). Afterwards you are free to smooze Gatlinburg or return home at your leisure.

Expanded Details:

Oconaluftee Visitor Center: If you have not been here before, they have a nice museum exhibits that tell the story of life in these mountains from native Americans and early European settlement time periods through the Civilian Conservation Corp and the development of the national park. The adjacent Mountain Farm Museum contains a fascinating collection of log structures including a farmhouse, barn, smokehouse, applehouse, corn cribs and others. Demonstrations of farm life are conducted seasonally. They open at 8:00 am if you want to get there early.

Dick’s Last Resort: Dick’s in not your everyday restaurant, it’s famous for it’s outlandish, sarcastic, and high-energy staff that serve your meal with a large dose of sarcasm. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind dining experience that’s entertaining and full of laughs (often at your expense), this is the place to be. If you want some greasy, bar food served with contempt, Dick’s Last Resort is the place to go

Ole Smoky Moonshine : The Holler: Ole Smoky is the first federally licensed moonshine distillery in the state of Tennessee. A visit to Ole Smoky is the true moonshine experience. As you approach the entrance, you can detect the distinct smell of our grains cooking and fermenting. You’ll see authentic working moonshine stills and experience the process from beginning to end. Our distillers will take the time to visit with you and answer any questions about the history and lore of moonshining in East Tennessee. After you see, smell and hear about the process, we offer tastings of our Award winning shine! Samples of our Original Unaged Corn Whiskey, White Lightnin’ and Moonshine Cherries as well as Apple Pie and Blackberry flavors – plus we offer seasonal and special flavors that aren’t available in package stores. And of course, you’ll be able to buy plenty of moonshine and Ole Smoky merchandise to take home with you.
