Start your MINI engines with a fun weekend road rally in Western North Carolina with the 3rd annual Bonnet, Boot and Brew Run, June 9-11. This year we will be in Hendersonville, NC. We’ll take you on a trip that you will never forget.
Friday will begin with registration in the hotel lobby just after 2:00pm, Then the first run begins. It is Copperhead Loop @ 3:00 pm and afterwards head to Burntshirt Winery for fellowship and fun with you other MINI enthusiasts. Then on to dinner at Tequilas Mexican Restaurant for a relaxing dinner on the deck. (300 Freeman Street, Hendersonville, NC.)
There will be a choice of two runs for Saturday morning beginning with a drivers meeting.
One run will be a Twisty Mystery” scavenger hunt and lunch afterwards. It will start at 9:30 am at the host hotel, but be there by 9:00am to get the clue sheet and drivers meeting. We’ll explore why Henderson County is one of the most popular vacation areas in our state. History, mystery and a few twisties thrown in for good measure!
The other run will be Bear Wallow Mountain Run and lunch. This Run will start at 10:30 am. at the host hotel also. Lunch will be at the Straightaway Cafe, 1722 hwy.9, Black Mountain, NC.
Both will take you through some of the beautiful countrysides of Henderson County.
Meet back at the host hotel at 2:30 pm and then on to a twisty ride to Tryon, NC and enjoy Saturday Night Lights at the Tryon International Equestrian Center. Watch riders and horses from all over the United States compete from the comfort of the elevated viewing areas and then enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants on site that will suit any palate.
Sunday will begin with the Henderson County Grand Tour with many famous sites and sounds of the area. Driver’s meeting at 9AM, wheels up at 9:30. The run will start out of the hotel parking lot on a leisurely Sunday morning drive from Fletcher over to Historic Flat Rock area and the stomping grounds of Carl Sandburg. From there we start a “Spirited Run” up the mountain and down into our sleepy town of Etowah/Horseshoe where we will take some of our favorite twisty roads over to Mills River ending at the world famous Sierra Nevada Brewery in Mills River. We will have lunch, view the grounds, and there is even a self-guided tour of the brewing facility after lunch.
Appalachian Mountain MINIs (AMM) believes that this 3rd Annual BB&B will be a event to remember until next year when we will do it all over again. Looking forward to seeing you there. So be sure and register and sign up for some tail spinning fun rally.
