Gene and Carole Carter have arrange for a one hour tour that will provide interesting details of the history of the Inn, its role during World War II, antiques and artwork, ending with a demonstration of the large music boxes.  The nine-foot-tall, German-built Badenia II Orchestration, automates the sounds of a snare drum, a bass drum, a 44-key piano, a 52-violin-pipe organ, a cymbal, and a xylophone with its intricately punctured parchment scrolls.  There may be only four Imhof & Mukle Badenia II Orchestrations left in the world, and two of them are at the Lake Lure Inn.
